Hi! I’m Kyra Hungerford.

I’m a performance dietitian and former NCAA Division II Women’s Basketball player. I know the impact nutrition has on performance & recovery and mission is to empower athletes through personalized, effective, and science-based strategies.

My focus as a performance dietitian is helping athletes fuel with purpose through science-backed strategies and personalized support-whether they’re training, competing, retired or simply striving to feel their best every day. I support athletes of all levels and backgrounds through accessible, relatable, and impactful nutrition services, and to foster a culture of confident, informed fueling.

  • Completed 1,200 hours of supervised practice across diverse sites including Bracey Performance, UI Health, UIC Research, and Common Threads

  • Logged 720 hours focused on athlete performance and fueling strategies

As a former NCAA Division II basketball player, I know firsthand how confusing and overwhelming nutrition can feel. During my college career at the University of Missouri–St. Louis, I struggled with disordered eating and the mental toll that came with it. Seeking help from a dietitian and an eating-disorder team changed everything—it gave me the tools to fuel my body and mind, and it lit the spark for the work I do today.

Now, as a performance dietitian, my mission is clear: to give athletes the guidance and confidence I once needed myself. I help athletes of every level—whether they’re competing, training, retired, or simply striving to feel their best—fuel with purpose through science-based strategies and truly personalized support. My goal is to create a safe, empowering space where nutrition feels accessible, sustainable, and game-changing, both on and off the field.
